IMPLANT ACUPUNCTURE
Implant acupuncture is a modern method derived from classical acupuncture, based on the long-term stimulation of selected ear acupuncture points using microscopic, bioresorbable implants.
Unlike traditional acupuncture, which has a short-term effect and requires regular visits, the implant method can support the body for many months—without the need for frequent, repetitive treatments.
For many patients, this means a more convenient solution, especially for chronic problems that require a long-term approach.
What does the procedure involve?
During the procedure, following a prior health qualification, microscopic implants are placed in carefully selected points of the ear—typically between 4 and 10, depending on the goal of the therapy and individual indications.
Due to the very small size of the implants, the procedure usually does not require anesthesia.
The implants remain completely invisible from the outside and do not affect the appearance of the ear.
After the treatment, the patient receives recommendations, documentation, and information regarding further care. After a short recovery time, it is possible to return to daily activities.
Safety and individual qualification
Every therapy is preceded by a thorough health interview, analysis of medical documentation, and an assessment of indications and contraindications.
A key element of the qualification is a specialist consultation conducted by qualified acupuncturists, during which the patient’s individual response to acupuncture and the viability of the implant method in their specific case are thoroughly assessed.
It is this precise evaluation of the body’s reaction and the personalized approach that help determine whether the therapy is truly justified.
The implants used are bioresorbable, meaning they are designed to gradually dissolve through the body’s natural processes without the need for surgical removal.
The selection of the type, number, and parameters of the implants is done on an individual basis—depending on the patient’s needs, the type of ailment, and the therapeutic goal.
The implants do not pose a contraindication to standard diagnostic imaging, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT) scans.
What conditions is this method used for?
Implant acupuncture is used as a supportive method, among others, for:
- Parkinson’s disease and parkinsonism,
- Chronic pain,
- Supporting obesity therapy,
- Chronic digestive system disorders,
- Allergies, including hay fever,
- Supporting addiction treatment.
The scope of application always depends on individual qualification, the nature of the problem, and the patient’s needs.
Why do patients choose this method?
Many patients look for solutions that do not require frequent visits and regular, repeated needling.
Implant acupuncture is based on long-term stimulation after a single procedure, which is why for many people it means:
- Long-term therapeutic support,
- Reduced need for frequent visits,
- A more convenient solution for chronic issues,
- Therapy that is easier to integrate into daily life.
Convenience, long-lasting effects, and a personalized approach are among the most common reasons patients choose this method.
Is every patient qualified for therapy?
No. Every case requires an individual evaluation.
Qualification is always preceded by a detailed health interview, document analysis, specialist consultation, and an assessment of the individual’s response to acupuncture.
The therapy may not be suitable for individuals:
- With active, severe systemic inflammation,
- With oncological diseases,
- Without a prior medical diagnosis,
- Planning to discontinue their current medical treatment on their own without consultation,
- Expecting a guarantee of a complete cure.
Important
Implant acupuncture does not replace proper medical diagnostics or treatment managed by a physician.
It is a supportive method that, in specific cases, can be part of a broader therapeutic process—following prior qualification.
The first step
The first stage is always a proper consultation, health analysis, assessment of the body’s individual response to acupuncture, and verifying whether this method is justified in the specific case.
Thanks to this, the patient receives clear, reliable information from the very beginning and can make an informed decision on how to proceed.
